Description	In this paper we have selected three countries (Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovenia) to examine similarities and differences in post-socialist countries during the period following the system change and the EU accession (2000–2005) from the point of view of gender relations and the labour market. We argue that, during and after the period of transition to market economy, attitudes towards gender roles became increasingly conservative in both private and public/political life, and women lost some of the rights and positions (e.g. job security and child care services) gained during the statesocialist era. Contrary to the oficial standpoint about the EU accession process, the promise of gender equality has not been fully realised. We also argue that there are signiicant differences between the countries in terms of their employment and family policies. (en) Tanulmányunkban három ország (Csehország, Magyarország és Szlovénia) esetén keresztül vizsgáljuk a poszt-szocialista országok közötti hasonlóságokat és különbségeket a rendszerváltás utáni időszakban, de főleg az EU-csatlakozás idején (2000–2005) a nemek és munkaerőpiac szempontjából. Azt állítjuk, hogy a piacgazdaságra való átállás idején és az azt követő időszakban a nemi szerepekkel kapcsolatos attitűdök egyre konzervatívabbakká váltak mind a magán-, mind a közéletben, és a nők elvesztettek néhány, az államszocializmus idején elnyert jogot (pl. a garantált munkahelyeket és a gyerekek napközbeni elhelyezésére szolgáló intézményeket). Az EU-csatlakozásról szóló hivatalos állásponttal szemben a nemek közötti egyenlőség igérete nem valósult meg teljesen. Azt is állítjuk továbbá, hogy jelentős különbségek vannak a vizsgált országok között a foglalkoztatás- és családpolitika területén.
