Description	This study analyses the income distribution within couples in the CR and ten EU countries. Women contribute less to a couple’s income than men. Within-couple income inequality is lower in the new EU member states than in the old ones. Inter-generational transmission of the traditional model of the family has a significant negative impact on the famale employment mainly in the old EU member states. The gender wage gap proved to be higher for cohabiting individuals than for singles. This study analyses the income distribution within couples in the CR and ten EU countries.
