Description	V roce 1983 určila česká vláda 26 tzv. významných velkých měst, mezi nimi Kladno. Tento krok lze interpretovat jako pokus vybudovat výkladní skříň socialismu a současně jako pokus korumpovat dělnickou třídu. Text odpovídá na otázky, co znamenal ve skutečnosti tento administrativní akt pro místní obyvatele a místní vládu, a jaký byl režim a mocenské struktury na subnárodní úrovni. Lehkost, s jakou padl režim v Kladně v roce 1989 zpochybňuje absolutní panství komunistické strany a klade otázku, jak se česká společnost v80. letech vyvíjela. (cs) Declaring the town Kladno in 1983 by Czech government as an 'important large city' could be interpreted as a try to establish a shop window of socialism, as well as an attempt to corrupt the working class. The text answers the questions how did it affect concretely local population and local government? What did it tell about the regime and its power structures at the sub-national level? The smoothness of regime change in 1989 in Kladno raises further questions about the absolute domination of communist party and the evolutions of Czech society in the eighties.
