Description
| - Virus hepatitidy E (HEV) je neobalený RNA virus, řazený do rodu Hepevirus, jediného zástupce čeledi Hepeviridae. Vyvolává hepatitidu E (HE) u některých zvířat a u člověka, která je obvykle přenášena fekálně-orální cestou (alimentárně) - kontaminovanou pitnou nebo užitkovou vodou. Šíření HE je popsáno v méně vyvinutých zemích Asie, Afriky, Jižní a Střední Ameriky. Lidské případy v zemích se sporadickým výskytem HE bývají spojovány s cestami právě do zmíněných oblastí se zvýšeným rizikem nákazy. Avšak HE bývá zaznamenávána také u osob do těchto endemických oblastí necestujících. V poslední době se zjistilo, že HE může mít i jiné cesty přenosu infekce včetně přenosu zoonotického, kdy mohou být zdrojem lidské nákazy divoká prasata a jelenovití. (cs)
- The hepatitis E virus (HEV), the causative agent of hepatitis E (HE), is a non-enveloped RNA virus. HEV is classified in the genus Hepevirus, the only member of the Hepeviridae family. HE is usually transmitted via the faecal-oral route with contaminated drinking water or water for industrial purposes. Spread of HE has been reported in developing countries of Asia, Africa, South and Central America. Human cases in countries with the sporadic occurrence of HE have been associated with travelling to countries with an increased risk of infection. But HE has been described also in people who did not travel to endemic countries. Further studies have suggested other routes of transmission and the zoonotic potential (pigs and deer as the potential source of human infection) of the virus.
