| - V průběhu 20. století došlo k výraznému poklesu početnosti a následné fragmentaci areálu vydry říční (Lutra lutra). Česká populace vydry se stala úplně izolovanou, zatímco slovenská populace zůstala částečně propojena s relativně kontinuálním areálem vydry ve střední a východní Evropě. Na základě analýzy mikrosatelitů amplifikovaných z DNA izolované ze vzorků trusu a tkání byla zkoumána genetická struktura a demografická historie vydřích populací v ČR a SR. Mezi českou a slovenskou populací vydry byla zjištěna relativně vysoká genetická diferenciace (FST=0,154), potvrzená také Bayesovskými analýzami. Pomocí dvou různých programů byl u obou populací zjištěn recentní populační bottleneck. Výsledky potvrzují, že populace vydry říční jsou dosud velmi citlivé na různé demografické změny, a proto by měly i nadále zůstat přísně chráněným druhem v obou krajinách. (cs)
- Over the latter part of the 20th century, Eurasian otter Lutra lutra populations suffered dramatic declines, resulting in extinction or fragmentation of many populations. Part of the Czech otter population became totally isolated while the Slovak population remained partly connected to the relatively continuous central and eastern European otter distribution range. We examined the genetic structure and past demographic history of otters in the Czech and Slovak Republics, using microsatellites amplified from DNA extracted from tissue and faecal samples. A relatively high level of genetic differentiation was found between the Czech and Slovak populations (FST=0.154), supported by a perfect assignment in Bayesian cluster analysis. Evidence for recent population bottleneck was found by two different programmes in both populations. The results confirm that otter populations remain vulnerable to any violent demographic change and should remain a strongly protected species in both countries.
