  • Based on the synthesis of our results from different localities of the Czech Republic we tried to state the influence of snow cover on gradation of deer interactioans from point of view of height of their browsing impact. The red and roe deer diet significntly differed between periods with and without snow, i.e. the snow cover influenced food supply and caused changes in the volume of main feeding components. Our results confirm the hypothesis that snow cover increases the consumption of browse also in the case of relatively low layer. Snow cover considerably influenced the feeding behaviour of red and roe deer but the browsing impact was effected mainly by food supply (presence of more attractive feeding sources as the browse) and by the density of large herbivores regardless of their feeding strategy.

  • Na základě syntézy výsledků získaných na jiných lokalitách v rámci České republiky jsme se pokusili zjistit vliv sněhové pokrývky na gradaci vzájemných vztahů mezi kopytníky z hlediska jejich vlivu na vegetaci. Potrava jelena a srnce se signifikantně lišila mezi obdobím se sněhovou pokrývkou a bez ní, t.j. sníh ovlivnil potravní nabídku a způsobil změny v obsahu hlavních potravních složek. Naše výsledky potvrdili hypotézu, že vlivem sněhové pokrývky dochází k nárůstu obsahu dřevin v potravě obou druhů, a to i v případě nízké sněhové pokrývky. Dále bylo zjištěno, že i když sníh ovlivnil potravní chování obou druhů, výše impaktu na vegetaci více závisela od konkrétní potravní nabídky na dané lokalitě a od denzity velkých herbivorů s ohledem na jejich potravní strategii.
