Description
Do Evropy byl dovezen v minulém století Tento druh většinou v souvislosti s aktivitami člověka v průběhu druhé poloviny minulého století postupně okupoval vody východní Evropy. (cs)
  • The Amur sleeper (Perccottus glenii Dybowski, 1877) is native to eastern Asia. In Europe, it has been introduced in the course of the 20th century. In the second half of the 20th century, this species successively populated the waters of eastern Europe. At present, it has already reached the drainage area of the Vistula River, that of the Tisza River and the lower part of that of the Danube River. In eastern Slovakia Amur sleeper gradually dispersed into individual regions in the river floodplain regions (Latorica, Bodrog, and Tisza rivers). The species populated drainage channels, dead river branches, gravel pits and pools, i.e. habitats with stagnant water and grown with aquatic plants. It presents a serious competitor and predator of small fish species showing similar habitat requirements, such as U. krameri, L. delineatus, and C. carassius. One may expect the species spreading further to the west of the present north-east line (Vistula – Tisza - Danube).
