Description	The content of heavy metals (cadmium and lead) were evaluated in the bird roundworm Contracaecum rudolphii, and in pectoral muscle and liver tissue of its definitive host, the cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo). The Pb accumulation in parasite biomass was lower than those in the host tissues. The Cd concentration in the host tissues was significantly higher than that in C. rudolphii. The role of bird nematodes in environmental impact studies appears to be rather limited.
