Description	Some of the concepts of resilience published to date have interpreted its meaning as the ability to adapt in the face of risk, but also as a developmental process involving personality, and interactions with social and situational variables, often necessitating risk-taking behaviors. The chapter compares the meaning of these concepts and presents some recent directions for applied resilience research in current issues about trauma and recovery.
