Description
  • The present study focuses on vacuum induction melting of near-gamma TiAl intermetallic alloys. The attention is mainly given to a cost-effective melting process in which a primary alloy ingot is re-melted in a ceramic crucible and cast into a ceramic shell mould. The paper deals with the physical and chemical analyses of the above processes and gives their evaluation based on the results of experimental melts obtained in vacuum induction furnace. The most detrimental reactions that govern the contamination of the molten alloy with ceramic particles were determined. Results suggest that the crucible wall attack can be considerably limited by using crucibles with a suitable coating.

  • Práce se soustřeďuje na vakuové indukční tavení intermetalických slitin na bázi gama TiAl. Pozornost je věnována zejména finančně méně náročné technologii tavení, při které je primární ingot přetaven v keramickém žáruvzdorném kelímku a následně odlit do keramické skořepinové formy. Příspěvek se věnuje fyzikální a chemické analýze procesů, které probíhají na rozhraní taveniny, steny kelímku a atmosféry pece. Jsou identifikovány reakce, které nejintenzivněji přispívají ke kontaminaci slitiny během přetavby. Výsledky povrzují, že interakce mezi intermetalickou taveninou a stěnou kelímku mohou být úspěšně utlumeny při použití vhodných povlaků stěny kelímku. (cs)
