Description
  • Local creep properties of pipe bend walls were studied by means of small punch tests. The disc specimens were cut from pipe bends after long term service exposure and after simulated exposure, respectively. The bends were made from the same type of the low alloy steel. The small punch technique enables the estimation of the dependence of creep properties on the position in the wall. The procedures for the estimation of creep rupture strength and creep ductility from small punch tests are also given.
