Description	The present paper describes and example of bacterial IS10 transposition from genome to a plasmid during cloning steps in a laboratory. The database search revealed unusually high frequency of IS10 elements in cloned eukaryotic sequences. It is estimated that approximately every thousandth clone in a database contains an IS contamination. We recommend checking submitted sequences for the presence of IS10 and other IS elements.
