Description
  • A greenhouse experiment based on a dual mode of mycorrhizal inoculation simulated the formation of mycorrhizal symbiosis at two different stages of plant succession on coalmine spoil banks. In the early stage of succession, arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) germinating form spores were not able to colonise the roots of so-called non-mycotrophic plants (from the families Chenopodiaceae and Brassicaceae). In contrast, the pre-developed mycelium network of AMF (representing the advanced stage of succession) colonised the roots of those plants and formed typical structures (arbuscules) of mycorrhizal symbiosis within their roots. The results suggest that the developed network of mycelium of AMF has an increased potential to colonise plants and is able to promote mycorrhiza even in plants with lower affinity to AMF.

  • Skleníkový experiment založený na dvou různých způsobech inokulace simuloval dvě různá stádia rostlinné sukcese na výsypkách. V raném stádiu sukcese klíčily arbuskulární mykorhizní (AM) houby ze spor. V těchto podmínkách nebyly AM houby schopny kolonizovat kořeny tzv. nemykotrofních rostlin (z čeledí Chenopodiaceae a Brassicaceae). Oproti tomu rozvinutá síť houbového mycelia (odpovídající pokročilému stádiu sukcese) byla schopna zajistit kolonizaci kořenů těchto rostlin včetně vytvoření typických útvarů, arbuskulí. Tyto výsledky naznačují, že rozvinutá síť mycelia AM hub má vyšší potenciál kolonizovat kořeny rostlin a vytvářet mykorhizu i s takovými rostlinnými druhy, které zpravidla nebývají s mykorhizou spojovány.
