  • Mnoho recentních studijí ukazuje positivní vztah mezi velikostí populace a její fitness. Tyto studie však neukazují důsledek tohoto vztahu pro dynamiku poplace. Studiem této otázky u druhu Scorzonera hispanica jsem ukázala, že navzdory positivnímu vztahu mezi produkcí semen a velikostí populace, vztah mezi velikostí populace a růstovou rychlostí populace není průkazný. I studied the effect of population size on population growth rate and survival probability in the rare perennial herb Scorzonera hispanica Occurring in fragmented grasslands. These data were then connected with data on full demography of the species front three of the studied populations.
