Description	The study analyses comprehensive four-volume anthology of Czech poetry edited during 1890s by important Czech-Viennese authority, surgeon Eduard Albert. This first synthesis of Czech poetry of the 19th century in German at all represents cultural initiative aimed at the recognition of the Czech culture from the German side, especially in Vienna. Poetry helped Albert to formulate an evolutionary model of Czech culture which starts with folk, local meaning and reaches universal values, the best achieved in poetry of Jaroslav Vrchlický. This model suppressed contemporary nationalist elements and found favourable response in Viennese liberal critique, for ingoing modernist generation was however this model already questionable. (en) Die Studie analysiert die umfangreiche vierbändige Anthologie der tschechischen Poesie, die der in Wien hocherkannte tschechischer Chirurg Eduard Albert in den 1890er Jahren herausgab. Diese erste Synthese der Tschechischen Dichtung auf Deutsch überhaupt ist auch als eine kulturelle Initiative zu verstehen, die die Anerkennung der tschechischen Kultur von der deutschen Seite, besonders in Wien durchsetzten wollte. Dichtung war für Albert der Ausgangspunkt zum Entwurf eines evolutionären Model der tschechischen Kultur, der mit einer nur volkgebundenen, lokalen Bedeutung beginnt und letztendlich die universalen Werte erreicht, die am besten im Werk von Jaroslav Vrchlický geäußert sind. Dieser Modell unterdrückte die zeitgenössischen nationalistischen Elemente und fand eine positive Aufnahme in Wiener liberalen Kritik, von der antretenden Generation der literarischen Moderne wurde er aber schon problematisiert.
