  • Základním předpokladem pro šlechtitelskou práci je dobrá organizace chovu generačních ryb. Vezmeme-li v úvahu počet chovaných populací a omezený počet dostupných rybníků, nelze zabránit společnému odchovávání juvenilních nebo dospělých ryb různých plemen. Ryby jednotlivých plemen jsou skupinově kryogenicky značeny s pravidelnou obnovou značky a dospělé generační ryby by měly být značeny individuálně. K minimalizaci inbreedingu nebo ztrát genetické proměnlivosti je chováno minimálně 120 ryb v plemeni a při jeho obnově by mělo být použito faktoriální křížení minimálně 15 samic a 25 samců. Všechny činnosti jsou zaznamenávány v programu %22Evidence 2003%22 a tyto údaje lze třídit podle původu populace, podle plemene nebo podle jednotlivých ryb; reprodukční a užitkové vlastnosti jsou také individuálně zaznamenávány. Další šlechtitelské činnosti u lína zahrnují selekci po komorování a odchov ryb před, během a po reprodukčním období. (cs)

Taking into account the number of populations bred and the limited number of ponds available, it is impossible to avoid rearing several juvenile or adult breeds in mixed stocks. Fish of individual breeds are group-marked with regular renewal of the freezebranded mark and broodstock adults should be marked individually. To minimise inbreeding or losses in genetic variation, at least 120 fish per strain are reared and when the strain is restored, factorial crosses of at least 15 females and 25 males should be applied. All activities are individually registered in the %22Evidence 2003%22 data-recording software and data can be sorted by the origin of the fish population, of the strain or of individual fish; reproductive and performance parameters are recorded individually also.
