  • 4 polysiloxanové pryskyřice byly použity jako prekurzory keramické matrice vláknových kompozitů vyztužených vláky R-skla nebo Nicalon NL202 a Nextel 720. Youngův modul nezávisí na teplotě do 600°C (1000°C) u kompozitů vyztužených vlákny R-skla (keramickými vlákny), ale při vyšší teplotě nastává rychlý pokles modulu. Mikroskopické pozorování vzorků oxidovaných ve vzduchu při 1200°C ukázalo, že matrice odvozená z polymetylfenylsiloxanové pryskyřice je náchylnější k poškození než její polymetylsiloxanový protějšek. The Zoung's modulus was flat to 600°C (1000°C) for composites reinforced with R-glass (ceramic) fibres; at higher temperatures a rapid fall of modulus took place. Microscopic observation of samples oxidised in air at 1200°C revealed that the polymethylphenylsiloxane-based matrix is more prone to damaging than its polymethylsiloxane counterpart.
