Description
  • By using a finite-difference time-domain method we have calculated both the eigenfrequencies and eigenfunctions of the localized defect modes induced by subtitutional and interestitial defects. By imposing boundary conditions appropriate to the irreducible representations of C 6v point group we have found localized states possessing A 1 ,A 2 ,B 1 ,B 2 and doubly degenerate modes of E 1 and E 2 symmetry. We have also studied the effects of geometrical and material parameters on the calculated defect modes.
