Description
  • Flow of two-phase mixtures of sand, coal, and tailings with water in a horizontal pipeline was studied. The method of radiometric scanning was used for measuring of the mixture vertical density distribution. The paper presents the analysis of distance from the pipe bottom to the point where the density of mixture is equal to the average density of mixture. The distance is a function of the density of solid particles and the grain size diameter distribution curve. Silin and Wolanski equations were verified for determination of density (concentration) distribution in vertical profile.
