Description
  • Separation efficiencies attainable with FLGM applied for the treatment of organically polluted surface water in pilot size operation with double-stage separation arrangement were investigated. It was established that FLGM can be effective for direct separation of the destabilized impurities and for agitation of systems containing destabilized particles aimed at the formation of readily separable suspension. The separation efficiency of the FLGM reached more than 60% for the metal component of destabilization reagent (aluminum) used, and around 33% for organic matter. The destabilized impurities that were not intercepted in the FLGM were aggregated to readily separable aggregates. Total separation efficiency of pilot plant after filtration attained 99% for the aluminum and 59% for organic matter.
