  • This paper reports the results of measurements of physical aging on PMMA, PMMA/PEO blends, PS, PC, PVC, ABS, PET (semicrystalline) and PMMA filled with 10% carbon black. Also included in this study were the inorganic glass-formers selenium, As2S3 and As2Se3. During the aging process, induced by a temperature down-jump of 15°C below Tg, the extent of enthalpy, h, and volume, v, relaxation was determined using DSC and mercury-in-glass dilatometry. From the aging records the ratio h/v, tentatively defining an aging modulus Ka, was evaluated. For the polymeric samples Ka values of about 2 GPa were observed, thus similar to the inverse value of the isothermal compressibility around Tg. This conclusion was supported by the data measured on the inorganic glass-formers where significantly higher Ka values were found in agreement with their compressibility characteristics.

  • V článku jsou uvedeny výsledky měření fyzikálního stárnutí PMMA, PMMA/PEO směsí, PS, PC, PVC, ABS, PET (holokrystalického) a PMMA plněného 10 % sazí. Dále jsou zahrnuty do měření anorganický amorfní selen As2S3 a As2Se3. Během stárnutí indukovaného skokovým snížením teploty o 15°C pod Tg, byly měřeny hodnoty entalpie a objemu pomocí DSC a mercury-in-glass dilatometrie. Z výsledků měření byl určen poměr entalpie/objem definující objemový modul Ka. Pro vzorky polymerů byla hodnota Ka okolo 2 GPa odpovídající obrácené hodnotě isotermní stlačitelnosti okolo Tg. Tento výsledek byl získán také pro anorganický amorfní selen jehož významně vyšší hodnoty Ka jsou v souladu s jeho stlačitelností. (cs)
