Description	Effects of short- and long-range forces upon the properties ofaquaeous systems is examined using a decomposition into trialpotentials which can be constructed from any realistic water-waterpotential. Both pure water and diluted aquaeous solutions of non-electrolytes are considered over a wide range of thermodynamicconditions. It is shown taha, regardless of the thermodinamicconditions, the structure of water is determined by short rangeforces which may be both repulsive and attractive; however with--increasing temperature the effect of the short range attractive--forces rapidly lessens.
