Description
| - The protective effect of coenzyme Q analogs is dependent on the location of reactive oxygen species generation. One of these analogs, idebenone, is used as an antioxidative therapeutic drug. We tested its scavenging effect on glycerophosphate-dependent reactive oxygen species generation. We observed that idebenone inhibits both glycerophosphate– and succinate-dependent reactive oxygen species generation. Idebenone and coenzyme Q1 were found to be more efficient in the scavenging activity than coenzyme Q3

- Ochranný účinek analogů koenzymu Q je závislý na místě vzniku reaktivních kyslíkových radikálů. Jedním z těchto analogů je idebenon, který je využíván pro léčebné účely. Testovali jsme jeho ochranný vliv na glycerolfosfátem-závislou produkci reaktivních kyslíkových radikálů. Zjistili jsme, že idebenon inhibuje jak glycerolfosfátem-závislou tak sukcinátem-závislou produkci reaktivních kyslíkových radikálů. Idebenon a koenzym Q1 byly účinnější než koenzym Q3 (cs)
