Description	The exposure to dust (PM 2,5) and PAHs in working environment, selected biomakers in urine ( 1-OH pyrene, pyromucic acid), mutagenic metabolites in urine and mutagenic complex mixtures in air (Ames test) and cytogenetic indicator (CAPL) were monitored intwo metallurgical plants. The first one ( pig iron production) was followed up before nad after its reconstruction for a decrease of use of PAH-producing materials. The second one (grey cast iron production) was monitored after the intoduction of furantechnology. Work was focused on the influence of genotoxic substances on workers of some job categories. The evaluation of CAPL revealed that furnance operators and slag men were less exposed to genotoxic factors than founders using furan technology.
