| - Generic Service Invocation Protocol (GSIP) aims to provide an alternative communication infrastructure for applications based on the Web Services technology. It is designed for environments where traditional SOAP based approach imposes drawbacks on performance and scalability, leads to wasting resources and/or processing power. Such problems may emerge in various environments, e.\,g. large-scale information systems, Grid computing, high-performance or mobile computing applications. The GSIP is designed to address the shortcomings, by introducing service-specific invocation model and corresponding infrastructure and by using alternative data encoding schemes. This allows for extensibility and implementation of several more advanced modes of operation as well, such as publisher/subscriber, producer/consumer etc. We present the GSIP design and architecture, some performance studies and some implementation and deployment scenarios.

- Generický protokol pro invokaci služeb (GSIP) si klade za cíl poskytnout alternativní komunikační infrastrukturu pro aplikace založené na technologii webových služeb. Je navržen pro prostředí, kde tradiční přístup založený na SOAPu představuje nedostatečné řešení z pohledu výkonu a škálovatelnosti, vede k plýtvání zdroji a/nebo procesorovým výkonem. Takové problémy se mohou vyskytnout v rozličných prostředích, např. velkých informačních systémů, gridového počítání, vysokovýkonných a mobilních výpočetních aplikacích. GSIP je navržen pro řešení takových problémů tím, že zavádí specifický invokační model pro danou službu, odpovídající infrastrukturu a také tím, že používá alternativní kódovacích schémat pro data. Protokol je rozšiřitelný a implementuje řadu pokročilých režimů jako publisher/subscriber nebo producent/konzument atd. Presentujeme návrh a architekturu GSIPu, porovnání výkonu a některé implementační scénáře nasazení. (cs)
