Description
  • Reflecting the results received from the research in the field of learning styles, which was held on the Faculty of Informatics and Management (FIM), University of Hradec Kralove (UHK), Czech Republic, this paper deals with the field of assessment as well. The main learning style research objective was to discover whether the ICT-enhanced (hybrid, blended) process of instruction tailored to learner´s preferences results in increase in learner´s knowledge. The method of pedagogical experiment was applied comparing learners´ performance before (pretest) and after the process of instruction (post-test). The process of instruction was held in three versions of an online course reflecting (1) individual student´s style of learning, (2) teacher´s style of instruction and (3) providing the learner with all types of study materials to choose from. As the results did not prove statistically significant differences in learner´s knowledge, we concluded students were flexible enough to study in the hybrid way and reach the same results either their preferences are satisfied, or not. Based on possible interpretation of the received results our attention was paid to the field of assessment, mainly to learners´ preferences in assessments within the hybrid process of instruction. The theoretical background having been defined, a proposal of research design and partial results are provided in the paper.
