Description	This article deals with the design of the tool supporting topology discovery and troubleshooting assistance in community wireless networks. Community networks requires new approach to achieve these goals as they are highly decentralized, heterogeneous and built using devices designed for the consumer business sector. Conventional approaches to network management may fail in the community networks because they rely on the corporate networks' high-end equipment with monitoring systems and global policies. Presented analysis serves as a proposal for the implementation of a system modelled using multi-agent paradigm. We choose this paradigm because it’s well established in computer networks and is suitable for distributed and highly heterogeneous environment like community wireless networks. Overall system objectives, agent deployment targets, agent types and communication strategies are described in this article. Given that this is a work-in-progress report, so far only base components were implemented to verify that our approach is feasible.
