Description	The degree of resistance to ergot (Claviceps purpurea/Fr./Tul.) was investigated in four Czech (Bohemia, Krasa, Moravanka, Slezanka) and four American (Coventry, Chateau, Midnight, Plush) Kentucky bluegrass varieties. The study was performed under field conditions (natural and semi-artificial infection) at Pullman (USA) and Zub_Ý (Czech Republic), and in the glasshouse (Zub_Ý) with Czech and American ergot populations (artificial infection) in two years (1997 and 1998). An exceptional stability of resi-stance under different conditions was observed in the variety Slezanka whereas stable susceptibility was not found.
