- The study assesses the levels of basic amino acids (aspartic acid, threonine, serine, glutamic acid, proline, glycine, alanine, valine, methionine, isoleucine, leucine, tyrosine, phenylalanine, histidine, lysine and arginine) in seeds of the lupin varieties (Lupinus albus: Amiga, Lal and Oležka; L. angustifolius: APR 82, Boruta and Probor; L. luteus: Boregine, Bornal and Wodjil) registered in the Czech Republic. This study examined the total amino acids content and its relative proportion to the total crude protein content. Lupin protein is characterized by a favourable ratio of essential to non-essential amino acids (1:1,14).
