  • Cílem studie bylo zjistit výskyt izolátů Escherichia coli rezistentních k antimikrobiálním látkám u racků chechtavých na třech hnízdních koloniích. Celkem 257 izolátů bylo testováno na citlivost k osmi antimikrobiálním látkám diskovou difuzní metodou. Geny rezistence a integrony třídy jedna byly prokazovány metodou PCR. Celkem 75 (29.9 %) izolátů z 257 bylo rezistentních k jedné nebo více antimikrobiáoním látkám. Dominovala rezistence k tetracyklinu u 49 (19.1 %) izolátů. Rezistence k ampicilinu byla nalezena u 30 (11.7 %), cefalotinu u 11 (4.3 %), streptomycinu u 24 (9.3 %), sulfonamidům u 20 (7.8 %), chloramfenikolu u 5 (1.9%) izolátů. Devět izolátů obsahovalo integron. Výsledky studie ukázaly, že mláďata racků chechtavých jsou významnými rezervoáry rezistentní E. coli, což pravděpodobně odráží původ kmenl v jejich stravě a vodě. Ačkoliv racci chechtaví nepřicházejí přirozeně do kontaktu s antibiotiky, mohou být tyto druhy infikovány rezistentní E. coli a mohou sloužit jako jejich potenciální rezerv (cs)
  • The aim of the study was to carry out an assessment of the occurrence of resistance to antimicrobials in E. coli that has been isolated from young Black-headed Gulls in three nesting colonies. A total of 257 isolates were tested for sensitivity to eight antibacterial substances by disk diffusion method. The PCR was used for detecting specific genes of antibacterial resistance and class 1 integrons in resistant E. coli isolates. A total 75 (29.9%) of 257 isolates were resistant to one or more antimicrobial agent. The dominant type of resistance was to tetracycline, detected in 49 (19.1%) isolates. Resistance to ampicillin was detected in 30 (11.7%), cephalothin in 11 (4.3%), streptomycin in 24 (9.3%), sulphonamides in 20 (7.8%), and chloramphenicol in 5 (1.9%) isolates. Nine isolates carrying integrons were detected.
