Description	%22Primary cardiac tumors are very uncommon in dogs. The prevalence has been estimated in approximately 0.0017-0.01% of all cases. Described primary heart tumors include primary sarcomas of the muscle, hemangiosarcoma and the so called heart base tumors (any neoplasm in the region of the heart base, including chemodectoma, ectopic thyroid or parathyroid carcinomas, lymphoma, or metastatic tumors). In general, heart base tumors can cause pericardial effusion, congestive heart failure (ascites, dyspnea, weight loss, exercise intolerance, etc), or cardiac arrhythmia. The objective of this work was to report a clinical case of chemodectoma in a 12-year castrated male Boxer dog, which was presented to the Clinic of Dog and Cat Diseases at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences showing weakness, syncopal and seizure-like episodes.
