  • Z celkového počtu 434 koní, kteří podstoupili chirurgické ošetření koliky, tenké střevo bylo ošetřeno u 195 (44.9%) pacientů, cékum u 10 (2.3%) koní, chirurgie velkého kolonu byla provedena u 196 (45.2%) případů a malý kolon byl operován u 14 (3.2%) koní. U 12 pacientů (2.8%) byly současně postiženy dvě odlišné části trávicího traktu, jeden kůň trpěl peritonitidou, torze dělohy se vyvinula u dvou klisen a tři zvířata měla negativní chirurgický nález. Ze 434 koní 371 (85.5%) přežilo. Z chirurgického zákroku na tenkém střevě se zotavilo 159 pacientů (81.5 %) a bylo propuštěno domů, po zákroku na slepém střevě sedm koní (70 %), 175 koní (89.3%) po operacích velkého kolonu a 14 koní (100 %) po operacích malého kolonu. 75 koní ze 103 (72,8 %) bylo propuštěno po resekci tenkého střeva a 89 z 98 koní (90.8%) s postižením tenkého střeva bez nutnosti resekce. Celkem 43 koní, kteří podstoupili jednu chirurgickou intervenci, nepřežilo bezprostřední postoperativní období. Nejčastější letální komplikací po chiru (cs)
