Description
  • Gastroduodenal ulceration is prevalent disease in foals and adult horses. Decreased performance as well as fatal complication relate to this syndrome. The objective of our study was to determine the prevalence of gastric ulceration in a mixed population of horses by post mortem examination and to evaluate a possible association between EGUS and sex or age of the examined horses, to evaluate the localisation of lesions in the proximal part of gastrointestinal tract and to determine occurrence of gastric parasites. Post mortem examinations were performed over a period of 24 months on 71 horses. The gastric ulcers were found in 52 horses (73.2 %). There was no significant association between age or sex and occurrence of gastric ulcers. In all horses the squamous mucosa lesions were localised near margo plicatus (100 % of cases), whereas in 23 horses the lesions were near margo plicatus and lesser curvature and in 7 horses at greater curvature. In 18 horses the mucosa was affected in whole extent of marg

  • Gastroduodenální ulcerace jsou častým onemocněním hříbat a dospělých koní. S tímto syndromem je spojena snížená výkonnost i fatální komplikace. Cílem naší studie bylo zjištění prevalence gastrických ulcerací u smíšené populace koní pomocí patomorfologického vyšetření a zjištění vztahů mezi syndromem gastroduodenálních ulcerací, pohlavím a věkem koní ve vyšetřované skupině. Dále jsme sledovali lokalizaci lézí v proximální části gastrointestinálního traktu a výskyt parazitů se stejné oblasti. V průběhu 24 měsíců bylo patomorfologicky vyšetřeno 71 koní. U 52 koní (73,2%) byly diagnostikované gastroduodenální léze. Signifikantní asociace mezi věkem a pohlavím a výskytem lézí nebyla potvrzena. U všech koní s lézemi na skvamózní sliznici žaludku se léze nacházely v blízkosti margo plicatus (100%), u 23 z nich na malém zakřivení žaludku a u sedmi na velkém zakřivení. U 18 koní byla sliznice kolem margo plicatus postižena v celém obvodu a u jednoho koně byla skvamózní sliznice žaludku zasažena difúzně. Léze g (cs)
