  • Our aim was to analyse cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB)-induced changes in the immune system response of the pig in respect to potential negative consequences related to cardiosurgery interventions until day 9 of experimental programme. We studied changes in relationship to all natural, cellular and humoral components of immune surveillance.Material and methods. We used 14 male and female adult minipigs, divided into two groups, i.e. I-CPB only and group II-CPB with total plasmapheresis and partial leuco-and trombopheresis. We estimated leucocyte subpopulations in peripheral blood and myelogram. Phagocytic aktivity and biochemical markers (superoxide anion, bestatin-sensitive aminopeptidase activity) of blood circulating granulocytes were determined in both groups at the same period. Results. We demonstrated nonselective decrease fo blood leucocytes during experiment to 25 % of initial values mainly in group II. Differential counts in blood samples of group II were characterized by 75 % of neutrophil staf
