Description	The paper deals with the development of the food market. It is principally paid attention to the processing stage as an intermediated component of the food chain. The objective of the paper is to analyse economic situation on particular processing stages within the chosen commodity vertical. The analysis is based on the statement that better economic results of businesses can be achieved not only by successful business strategy or quality management and employees but also by business ability to advance its own interests and to influence market conditions, such as setting higher prices, pressure on lower input prices, better position for negotiations with business partners etc. The problem is presented on the example of the wheat commodity chain in the Czech Republic. (en) Příspěvek se zabývá vývojem na trhu potravin. Hlavní pozornost je zaměřena na fázi zpracování jako prostředního článku potravinového řetězce. Cílem příspěvku je analyzovat ekonomickou situaci na jednotlivých stupních zpracování v rámci zvolené komoditní vertikály. Analýza je založena na tvrzení, že lepší ekonomické výsledky mohou být dosaženy nejen úspěšnou obchodní strategií nebo kvalitou managementu a zaměstnanců, ale také možností podniku prosazovat své zájmy a ovlivňovat podmínky na trhu, jako je stanovování vyšších cen, tlak na snížení cen vstupů, lepší pozice při vyjednávání s obchodními partnery atd. Problematika je prezentována na příkladu komoditní vertikály pšenice potravinářské v České republice. (cs)
