Description	Vitality of trees was studied in a 100-year old monoculture of Norway spruce (Picea abies /L./ Karsten) of lower altitudinal vegetation zone by measuring growth and nutrient concentrations in needles in relation to changes in the values of meteorologicaland climatic conditions in individual years of three periods in twenty years of research. Detected and verified were hazardeous values of cumulative precipitation, mean air temperatures and their ratios P/T, which exhibited a serious impact on the Norway spruce stand vitality in a certain period of its annual cycle of activity. Further prolongation of the long growing season is also considered to be a climatic risk factor.
