Description
(cs)
  • Cultivating woody plants in containers is an intensive and modern method. The introduction of growing this group of plants in containers represents a way of rationalising the production of nursery produce in means of cultivation technology as well as in marketing. This is achieved by the simplification of sales and the extension of the period when the plants can be dispatched. This progressive technology is also highly beneficial for the plants, although certain risks might occur as well. The container-cultivated woody species form special types of ecosystems, which tend to be unstable and must be artificially maintained by continuous supply of various forms of energy from outside. The plants are much more sensitive to the negative influence of numerous stress factors. In woody species, the stress situations are less-obviously manifested than in other plants, usually by a decrease in growth activity. The aim of this article is to emphasise the importance of selected factors that have a positive or
