- Zprávy o rozsáhlých škodách zvěří na dřevinách lze nalézt v lesnické literatuře od její samotných počátků. O opakovaném poškozovaní lesa či jeho obnovy pastvou dobytka a lesní zvěří píše Jan Evangelista Chadt (Ševětínský) ve svých %22Dějinách lesů a lesnictví%22 (CHADT, 1914), Thomas Miklitz se škodám zvěří jako významnému fenoménu zasvěceně věnuje opakovaně v Zentralblatt für das gesamte Forstwesen (např. MIKLITZ, 1915), ve dvacátém století jsou ostatně škody zvěří významnou součastí snad každé knihy věnované ochraně lesů.
