  • The paper deals with using the technology of terrestrial laser scanning to determine the structural parameters of forest stands. In a mixed beech/larch stand, minimum differences were found as against an actual situation using the automatic detection of the number and distribution of trees in an area. In the tested area (500 m2), 87% trees were identified automatically. In 16% trees from the database of a statistical operational inventory a position differed on average by 15 cm as against a situation detected by laser scanning. On the basis of the vertical distribution of laser points in space in the selected sample tree of beech, basic height parameters of the tree were determined. Results given in the paper suggest possibilities of the further use of terrestrial laser scanning at the detailed study of the structure of forest stands particularly at the determination of values, which cannot be obtained by traditional methods of measuring.

  • Příspěvek se zabývá využitím technologie pozemního laserového skenování pro zjišťování strukturních parametrů lesních porostů. Ve smíšeném porostu buku a modřínu byly automatickou detekcí počtu a rozmístění stromů na ploše zjištěny minimální rozdíly oproti skutečnosti. Na testované ploše (500 m2) bylo automaticky identifikováno 87 % stromů. U 16 stromů z databáze statistické provozní inventarizace se pozice lišila průměrně o 15 cm oproti situaci zjištěné laserovým skenováním. Na základě vertikálního rozložení laserových bodů v prostoru u vybraného vzorníku buku byly určeny základní výškové parametry tohoto stromu. Výsledky uvedené v příspěvku naznačují možnosti dalšího využití technologie pozemního laserového skenování při podrobném studiu struktury lesních porostů především při zjišťování veličin, které nelze získat klasickými měřícími metodami.
