Description
  • The impact of selected groups of vertebrate on forest plantations and floodplain forest stands was analyzed. The analysis draws on both published and unpublished data of the author and literary sources. The most significant damage to floodplain forests is caused predominantly by small rodents (Rodentia), Castor fiber and by ungulate animals, such as Cervus elaphus and Capreolus capreolus. Small mammals include predominantly Apodemus flavicollis, which causes damage by consumption of tree seeds (mainly of oak) and Myodes glareolus, whose impact on acorn yield is enhanced by browsing. Owing to dominant representation of oak in production floodplain forests, damage through seed consumption is more significant than browsing of bark, whose high content of essential oils is not overtly attractive for rodents. At present, C. fiber causes most damage to trees and this species has become problematic especially in the Soutok Game Preserve (South Moravia). The worst affected tree species in the area include Sali

  • Byla analyzována problematika vlivu vybraných skupin obratlovců na kultury a porosty lužních lesů. Analýza vychází z publikovaných i nepublikovaných dat autora a literárních zdrojů. Nejvýznamnější škody v luzích působí převážně drobní hlodavci (Rodentia), bobr evropský -- Castor fiber Linnaeus a kopytníci, jako jelen lesní -- Cervus elaphus Linnaeus a srnec obecný -- Capreolus capreolus (Linnaeus). Z drobných savců jde převážně o myšici lesní -- Apodemus flavicollis (Melchior), která škodí konzumací semen dřevin (hlavně dubu) a norníka rudého -- Myodes glareolus (Schreber), jenž vedle impaktu na úrodu žaludů, škodí i ohryzem dřevin. Vzhledem k dominantnímu zastoupení dubu v hospodářských lužních lesích, jsou podstatně významnější škody konzumací semen, než ohryzem kůry, která díky vysokému množství silic není pro hlodavce příliš atraktivní. Největší škody na dřevinách působí v současné době bobr evropský, který je problematickým druhem hlavně v oboře Soutok (jižní Morava). Nejvíce postiženými dřevinam (cs)
