Description	The aim of the paper is to compare the development of economic performance of the regions of the Czech Republic in the years 2005 to 2009. Economic performance of the regions is assessed using indicators of gross domestic product (GDP) of the region in millions CZK, share of the region in GDP of the Czech Republic (%), GDP of the region per capita in CZK and in purchasing power standard (PPS). The share of each branch is observed using indicators of gross added value. The level of investment activities is also monitored using the indicator of creation of gross total fixed capital in millions of crowns, percentage of gross fixed capital in the total gross fixed capital of the Czech Republic, and production of gross fixed capital per 1 citizen of the region in CZK. During the observed time line we can see increase of gross domestic product until 2008 although with different growth rate. Negative impact of the economic crisis became evident in the year 2009 even though again with different results in the respective regions. That year also saw decrease in investment activities measured by the indicator of gross fixed capital. Preliminary results of the year 2010 show slight growth, though.
