  • At the beginning of 2009, an extensive research on the topic of Knowledge and Opinions of Last-Grade Students on the Problems of the EU was held in the last grades of secondary schools of the Vysocina Region. The questionnaire included 40 knowledge questions, 20 opinion questions and 9 identification questions that allowed structuring the set of respondents into numerous segments.. The paper looks for the answer to the question %22What are the expectations of the Czech youth in the relationship to the EU and which factors influence these expectations? %22, it analyses answers of students to four questions from the opinion part of the questionnaire, which were related with personal expectations of students in the relationship to the EU. These answers are analysed from several points of view -- the influence of sex, the type of secondary school studied, the size of the town, political orientation, financial conditions of the family, intended future occupation, language skills and the relationship to the EU.
