  • At six sites in the Czech republic we evaluated long-term small plot trials for 2 faktors of utilisation from 2003 to 2011: 4 cutting frequencies (four, three and one or two cuts) and four levels of fertilizer aplication (zero fertilizer, PK, N90PK, N180PK. The overall average dry matter (DM) production of grasslands over years a sites was 7,04 t.ha-1. DM increased significantly when 4 (6,47 t ha-1) resp. 3 cuts (6,93 t.ha-1) were taken in comparison with 2 (7,22 t.ha-1) resp. 1-2 cuts (7,53 t.ha-1). Nitrogen fertilizer application in average over eight years significantly increased DM production in comparison with zero fertilizer treatments resp. only PK fertilizer from 5,25, resp. 5,64 t.ha-1 DM to 7,95 t.ha-1 when N90Pk and 9,3 t.ha-1when N180PK. Intensive utilization of grasslands in comparison with extensive utilization significantly increases CP concentration from 118,9 to 167,2 g.kg-1 DM, NEL concentration (from 4,98 to 5,64 MJ.kg-1 DM) and it significantly decreases fibre concentration from 287,1 to 218,2 g.kg-1 DM
