  • V pokuse s vykrmovanými kuřaty byl sledován vliv obsahu 1, 3, 5 nebo 7 % lněného oleje v krmné směsi na obsah mastných kyselin v prsní a stehenní svalovině. Olej s vysokým obsahem kyseliny alfa-linolenové z odrůdy Atalante (A) nebo olej s převažujícím obsahem kyseliny linolové z odrůdy Lola (L) byl zkrmován od 25. do 40. dne života. Při použití A byl obsah všech n-3 polynenasycených mastných kyselin (PUFA), včetně kyseliny eikosatrienové, průkazně vyšší, obsah n-6 PUFA nižší a poměr n-6/n-3 PUFA v mase užší (P<0,001) než při krmení L. Nejužší poměr n-6/n-3 PUFA byl zaznamenán při obsahu 36 g kyseliny alfa-linolenové (58 g A) v 1 kg směsi a nejširší při obsahu 2 g této kyseliny (70 g L). Při použití L byla zvyšující se hladina kyseliny linolové spojena s průkazným zvýšením všech n-6 PUFA v mase. Po aplikaci A se obsah všech n-3 PUFA zvyšoval, závislost na množství oleje však byla pro kyselinu eikosapentaenovou ve stehenní svalovině průkazně přesněji vyjádřena rovnicí paraboly druhého stupně s maxime (cs)
