Description
  • The paper describes the loading of wood cylinders by the impact of the plane plate. This experiment, usually termed as plate impact test, enables to reach the strain rates of order 105s-1 or higher. At the same time the specimen material is subjected both to pressure and tension. In order to give some insight on the stress conditions, series of numerical simulations of this test by the LS DYNA 3D finite element code have been performed. The experiments performed on the specimen of the spruce wood and beech wood indicated some unexpected increase in the specimen strength.

  • Práce popisuje zatěžování dřevěných válečků při dopadu na dřevěnou desku. Tento experiment umožňuje dosáhnout rychlostí deformace 105 s-1 a vyšších. Materiál vzorku je zárověn vystavován tlaku a tahu. Popis stavu napjatosti byl umožněn provedením řady numerických simulací v prostředí LS DYNA 3D. Experimenty provedené na smrkovém a bukovém dřevu odhalily neočekávané nárůsty hodnot pevnosti vzorků. (cs)
