Description
| - Effects of sex and age upon manganese and copper utilization was investigated in an experiment with eight groups of chickens receiving 68 mg of Mn and 9.6 mg Cu per 1 kg of consumed dry matter (BR1) and eight groups receiving only 51 mg of Mn and 9.3 mg the experiment was divided into 15 three-day balance periods. For diets BR1 and BR2, the average coefficients of Mn retention, as determined in 120 balance experiments, were 0.065 0.0042 and 0.070 0.0066, resp. and that of Cu 0.101 0.0076 and 0.108diets and contents of Mn per 1 g of live body gain increased linearly and highly significantly (P < 0.01) with age. Dependence of utilization of copper and concentration of this element in body gains on age were parabolic with the minimum values at 26 - elements in the organism was higher than that of body weight. Allometric coefficients for Mn were 1.88 0.050 and 1.68 0.057 and for Cu 1.36 0.048 and 1.20 0.055 for chickens fed on diets BR1 and BR2, respectively. The effect of sex on values unde
