Description	Nowadays, the goal of European economies, that is often emphasized (e.g. Europe 2020 Strategy), is the focus on both economic performance and sustainability. The economic performance is often tightly accompanied by pollution and wastefulness as negative by-products of economic performance that burden the life quality. GNP or GDP as such are from the point of view of capturing well-being inadequate metrics. Particularly, in its economic-social and environmental dimensions, some of the aspects that are often referred to as sustainability GNP or GDP are inconvenient measures. For this reason it is necessary to take both economic and environmental aspects into account. Alternative indicators are often used for such a measure of sustainable economic performance. We offer an alternative or even complementary approach based on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to identify and quantify the multifactor impacts of economic growth on social development, and to measure and evaluate the comparative effectiveness of different countries in terms of sustainable economic development.
