Description	In the late 1990s, Korea went through a difficult period of the Asian financial crisis. This crisis had severe impact on the country and revealed longstanding weaknesses in Korea's development model. After this crisis, the country started to implement broad structural reforms and build a knowledge economy. Korea was successful in its reformatory effort.
