  • There are significant disparities in regions of the Czech Republic. The paper analyses disparities of economic performance in chosen regions. There are used indicators as gross domestic product, gross added value, gross fixed capital and employment in the paper. In the paper there is region defined as district because of availability of records needed for analysis of disparities among regions. Methodical approach is applied to data from South-Moravian Region, Olomouc Region, Moravia-Silesian Region and Plzeň Region in proportion to total economic performance of the Czech Republic in years 2003 -- 2005. Significant differences are originating among the regions considering economical performance and the disparities of regions are further deepening. The existence of disparities is possible to consider as important stimulus for society development, as precondition for formation of more effective forms of labour division and specialization.
