| - The aim of the study is to inform about physical activity and inactivity of youths aged 15 - 24 in South Bohemia. The research utilizes a systematic random sample of boys (n=116l) and girls (n=1482) in the South Bohemian region. The level of physical activity was investigated using the short version of the %22International Physical Activity Questionnaire%22. Despite the general unsatisfactory situation in physical activity (7,43 % of girls and 6,27 % of boys are physically inactive; 34,32 % of girls and 24,07 % of boys are engaged minimally in physical activity), the youths in the South Bohemian region perform more physical activity than youths in other fifteen EU countries. Boys are generally more physically active (Mdn=4626 MET'min-1'weekl; IQR=5307) than girls (Mdn=3546 MET'min-l'week-l; IQR=4038) [H(1, 1588)=34,56; p=0,000; ?2=0,022]. - Cílem studie je poskytnout údaje o pohybové aktivitě a inaktivitě jihočeské mládeže ve věku 15-24 let. Výzkumný soubor tvoří systematicky náhodný výběr chlapců (n=1161) a děvčat (n=1482) Jihočeského kraje. Úroveň pohybové aktivity byla zjišťována prostřednictvím krátké administrativní verze %22International Physical Activity Questionnaire%22. Přes neuspokojivý stav (pohybově inaktivních je 7,43 % děvčat a 6,27 % chlapců a minimálně pohybově aktivních je dalších 34,32 % děvčat a 24,07 % chlapců) vykazuje jihočeská mládež více pohybové aktivity než mládež v patnácti zemích Eu. Chlapci jsou celkově pohybově aktivnější (Mdn=4626 MET'min-1.týden-1; IQR=5307) než děvčata (Mdn=3546 MET-min-1.týden-l; IQR=4038) [H(1, 1588)=34,56; p=0,000; ?2=0,022].
